Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Cratewise, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Cratewise helps you catalog and manage your vinyl record collection. Features include manual and AI-assisted album entry, artwork fetching, iCloud sync, and collection sharing. Some features require a paid subscription (Cratewise Pro).

3. Accounts and Device Identity

Cratewise uses an anonymous device identifier to authenticate your device. You do not need to create an account with an email or password. You are responsible for maintaining access to the device associated with your collection data.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

You can use Cratewise for free with limited AI features. Free users receive a limited number of AI-powered requests.

Cratewise Pro

Cratewise Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. Prices are displayed in the app before purchase.

Billing

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

5. AI Features

Cratewise uses AI services to provide features such as album identification, artist biographies, album stories, and recommendations. These features:

• Are provided “as is” and may contain inaccuracies
• Require sending album and artist information to third-party AI providers for processing
• Are subject to rate limits to ensure fair usage
• May be modified, improved, or discontinued at any time

AI-generated content should not be considered authoritative. Always verify important information independently.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you add to your collection (album entries, notes, photos). By using collection sharing features, you grant Cratewise a limited license to display your shared content to other users you choose to share with.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service
• Abuse AI features through automated or excessive requests
• Impersonate others through public profiles or shared collections
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app

8. Intellectual Property

Cratewise, including its design, code, and branding, is our intellectual property. Album artwork, artist names, and other music metadata belong to their respective rights holders and are displayed under fair use for personal catalog purposes.

9. Third-Party Services

Cratewise integrates with third-party services including Apple iCloud, MusicBrainz, Deezer, iTunes, and AI providers. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or content.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Cratewise is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all server-side data at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. Local data on your device and in iCloud is managed by you and Apple respectively.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
