What is Cratewise?
Cratewise is a vinyl collection app for iOS. Catalog your records, explore curated lists, and understand your collection — all in one place.
What is Dexx?
Dexx is your AI record expert inside Cratewise. When you add a record, Dexx fills in the year, genre, label, country, and artwork. Dexx also writes artist bios, album stories, and collection insights.
Is Cratewise free?
Core features are free — including unlimited barcode scanning, collection management, curated list tracking, and stats. You get 5 free AI uses (Dexx Add and Photo Identify combined). Pro unlocks unlimited AI features.
Adding Records
How do I add a record?
Three ways. Dexx Add: type the artist and title, Dexx fills the rest. Photo Identify: point your camera at the cover, Dexx identifies it. Barcode Scan: scan the sleeve barcode, Dexx looks it up.
What does Dexx fill in when I add a record?
Year, genre (from a 20-genre taxonomy), label, country, and artwork. Catalog number, format, and condition are fields you fill in yourself.
What if Dexx gets something wrong?
Every field is editable. Tap any field on the album detail screen to correct it. Your edits are saved locally and sync across your devices via iCloud.
Collection Features
Can I track my wishlist?
Yes. Cratewise has a separate wishlist grid with the same UI as your main collection. You can upgrade a wishlist album to owned at any time.
How does iCloud sync work?
Automatic bi-directional sync via CloudKit. Your collection works fully offline and syncs when you reconnect. No account setup needed beyond your Apple ID.
Can I share my collection?
Yes. You can invite others to browse your collection via CloudKit sharing.
Curated Lists
What are curated lists?
Lists of essential records organized by theme, genre, or source. Includes Dexx Originals (like the Top 100), Foundations (vibe-based lists), Genre Essentials (25 per genre), and The Canon (lists from music publications). You can track which albums you own, want, or are missing.
Can I add albums from a list to my collection?
Yes. One-tap add for any album on a list. Missing items can go straight to your collection or wishlist.

5 AI uses (Dexx Add + Photo Identify combined), unlimited barcode scanning, full collection management, curated list tracking, collection stats, iCloud sync, and sharing.
What does Pro include?
Unlimited Dexx Add and Photo Identify, artist bios, album stories, Dexx suggestions ("you might also dig"), and Dexx Insights on your collection.
How much is Pro?
$49/year or a monthly option. Both available via the App Store.
